Strategic Planning
To be good stewards, it is the Library’s responsibility to continually reflect on itself and its community to ensure that our future vision remains relevant and accountable. The process undertaken to create this Strategic Plan was to not only listen to our close constituents, but also to our entire community. Based on the work of the Harwood Institute for Public Innovation and Meredith Counts from the University of Michigan, community members were asked “What kind of community do you want to live in?” and “How can the Library make that a reality?”
The Strategic Planning Committee recommended the Library Board adopt four strategic areas of focus for the period of 2024-2027, which ultimately dovetail with the Eaton Rapids Area District Library’s mission statement: Provide and make readily available library services necessary to meet the educational, informational, recreational and cultural needs of the community today and into the future.
