Important: Library service areas are determined by township, city, or village—not by county.
If you don’t live in the service area, you can still get a library card for a small fee. See our FAQ section: “How Do I Get a Non-Resident Card?” for details.
A pin number is set as userpass at the time of obtaining a library card. If you changed your pin and don’t remember, please contact us at (517)663-0950 to reset your password.
Any individual that does not reside in, or does not pay property taxes to a governmental unit, within the City of Eaton Rapids, Eaton Rapids Township or Hamlin Township will be required to purchase a Library Card in order to borrow Library materials.
Non-residents may purchase a $45.00/year family card or a $25.00/year single card.
A family card allows each family member residing at the same address to receive their own card at no additional cost.
Non-resident cardholders will be issued full borrowing privileges, including access to the Library’s digital collection and MeL access. Non-resident Cards cannot be applied for online.
A maximum of 50 items total may be checked out at any given time per Library Card with a 10 item limit on DVDs and a 1 item limit on Things. A maximum of 50 MeLCat items may be checked out at any given time per Library Card.
It is the patron’s responsibility to notify the Eaton Rapids Area District Library promptly of a lost or stolen Library Card. If the loss or theft is not reported, the patron is responsible for all materials charged to the Library Card.
Patrons will be held responsible for lost and damaged item bills accrued prior to the date the loss or theft of the Library Card is reported. Patrons will not be held responsible for bills accrued after the date on which the loss or theft is reported. In the case of minors, the parent of the legal guardian who signed the Library Card application is the responsible party.
There will be a charge of $1.00 to replace a Library Card.
Library accounts can be accessed online here with your library card number and PIN. If you have forgotten your PIN, contact the library at (517)663-0950 and they will reset it for you.
All PIN numbers are set up as userpass
Once logged into your account, you can update your information, see what you have checked out, overdue, and on hold, renew materials, place holds, and see any fees.
Eaton Rapids Area District Library is late fee free. However, if you have fees you owe for other reasons, you can pay them at the Circulation Desk during library hours with cash, check, or credit card.

Services
While we don’t have a fully enclosed meeting or study room, we do offer a semi-private space separated from the public area by a door. This space connects to our staff section through a curtained area, and we ensure your privacy by keeping the curtain closed and limiting foot traffic during your use. Additionally, this area serves as a holding space for Friends of the Library book donations and sale items.
If you’d like to learn more or see if this space meets your needs, please let us know!
Our technology coordinator can offer assistance with a variety of topics, including computers, software, navigating the internet, phones, tablets, downloading ebooks, job seeking and resumes, and more. Please see our Staff Directory for contact information.
DTDL has a color printer, black & white copy machine, and scanner. Learn more about these services here, including our remote printing service.
ERADL gets a selection of paper tax forms each year. Visit our tax information page for updates as well as links to online tax forms and tax assistance.
