Library Lines 7/21/2021

I have some great news today: The Eaton Rapids Area District Library’s Friends Group is back, and is ramping up for its busiest year yet!

The Friends Group is dedicated to promoting the Eaton Rapids Area District Library, increasing public awareness and encouraging community involvement; they are dedicated volunteers who contribute so much of their time and expertise to our Library and strive to develop an organization that supports and enhances the Library, its services and its programs through advocacy and fundraising.

The Friends were established in 2006, and to date have raised over $25,000 for the Library. These funds have provided the increased WIFI access, the back drop box, large programs, interactive toys, public computers, a new air conditioner, memorial books and much more.

Our Library would be poorer without our Friends Group, and I truly believe most patrons would be surprised to learn just how many of the services, resources and programs they enjoy were only made possible because of the Friends Group.

But now the Group needs your help! They need more volunteers to help plan and run fundraising events, they are in the beginning stages of planning. This is a fantastic way to get involved with the community, and is sure to lead to great times and even greater friendships.

Please consider joining this wonderful organization and help them, help us. Thank you too, to those who already volunteer for the Library and I look forward to meeting new members soon!
