Library Lines – 9/22/20

Next up in my continued effort to highlight everyone who works at the Eaton Rapids Area District Library is Amanda Furgason!

Amanda has been an ERADL Library Assistant for the past six years, but has been a part of the Eaton Rapids community her entire life. She graduated from Eaton Rapids High School, and settled down with her husband (also an Eaton Rapids lifer) to raise their family in the town they know and love.

Together they have two children (16 and 9) who both attend Eaton Rapids schools, and two dogs. Not only that, but Amanda’s parents live in the community still, as well as a myriad of other family members, including her nephews whom she adores.

For anyone who knows Amanda, it will come as no surprise that her favorite thing about working at the Library is the patrons, especially the tweens/teens she runs programs for.

Go to book recommendations for Amanda are: Endurance: My Year In Space, A Lifetime of Discovery by Scott Kelly (two of us have now recommended this book, have we convinced you to read it yet?) and Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg.

I hope you have enjoyed getting to know Amanda a little bit better, but really the best way to get to know her is to come down to the Library and say hi sometime!

If you have questions or comments about the Library please contact me directly (acurtis@eradl.org or 517-663-0950 x401).
